I must add an addendum to my last post, Fava Beans!!.

Every Tuesday night, Fantôme Chocolat and I meet up with some friends for Belgian beer. I made the fava bean post just prior to dashing out of my office to make the 2 block trip over to the restaurant where we meet up. Fantôme Chocolat was already on his way so did not see the fava bean post or know that I was making it today. When he walked into the restaurant, he handed me a Dean & DeLuca bag. It was full of fava beans. (Really! I can’t make this stuff up!)

There is one Dean & DeLuca in our city. It is not easily accessible and parking is a horrible headache over there. Neither of us are fans of that section of town and rarely venture over there. He was over in the area for another matter and went into Dean & DeLuca because he remembered that was where I found him squid ink pasta. He checked and found me fava beans. In October. At Dean & DeLuca.

I think at this point if I don’t move past the fava bean incident I am an evil something or other.

So, in closing, Fantôme Chocolat is a wonderful “Fava Bean Guy” and I am moving past The Great Fava Bean Incident of the Summer of ‘07.

(I did get to tell the story one more time though since our friend Jeff was out tonight and he had not heard it before.)
